The Mortgage and More Blog is up for sale
Many of you that have followed me over the last two years might remember that when I first broke into blogging, I was a manager for a mortgage company. I originally started blogging on ActiveRain as The Mortgage & More Guy and soon converted my blog name to The Mortgage & More Blog. It did not take me long to know that I needed to grow my presence and that is when I gave birth to The Mortgage & More Blog. Just so you know a time line, the site was born in April of 2008.
I originally turned to Blogger, which was a free platform through Google. I went there thinking that because it was tied to Google, I would be able to garner more Google Juice. Boy, was I dead wrong. It did not take me long to realize that this was the wrong platform. I soon started looking for a platform that I could expand on.
This is when I found WordPress. Many people do not realize that WordPress comes in two flavors; WordPress.com and WordPress.org
. If you want to get techinical, there is also MU.Wordpress.org
, in which Positive Real Estate Professionals is actually built on. I won’t get into that as it is a bird of a different color. The big difference between the .com and the .org is that .com host your site for you and there are many restrictions. The .org does not host the site for you and there are few limitations. In my estimation, .org and the MU platform might be the best content management system on the market today in terms of what it can do for you.
Now, let’s get back on track. I originally went with the .com version. However, it did not take me long to know that it was not the right version and I soon mover to the .org version. Since that point and time, I have been able to increase my web presence with little effort. The tools that this platform offers is extremely powerful. With that said, the people that still follow me know that I left the mortgage industry last year to follow a dream. Since that time, I have tried to keep this site going, but it has been difficult. I have since automated the site to pull my articles from PREP.
With the time running near for the site to renew, I have decided to sale it off. With that said, if you are interested in purchasing the site and all the content on the site, then we need to talk. The site is established and still has a following. It is generating about 200 hits a day at this point. If you want to discuss this, you can call our office @ 865-951-0522 or email me.
R & D Art releases their first College Football Theme: University of Tennessee
With the college football season getting close, R & D Art releases their first College Football Theme for sale. The theme that is being release is for the University of Tennessee football fans. What better way to show your love for your Volunteers than that of showing it off with your own personal blog. The screenshot appears on the left in this post. Some features of the theme is a fixed background with a transparent and floating article section. Also, the buttons have been replaced with Tennessee helmets as well as good ole Smokey. The theme has a temporary name and slogan in just to show you the position, font family, font size, and font color.
The theme is being sold under 3 different types of license. There is a single user license ($50.00), a multi-user license($250) and an exclusive license($200). The single user allows for you to use the product on one site only. The mulit-user edition is for use on a MU version of wordpress for you to allow any of your users to utilize the theme. The exclusive license means that this theme will never be sold again and you will be the only one with rights to use or distribute the theme.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the licensing type, then please click on the pay pal button below. Once the first sale is made, it will either negate the ability to buy as exclusive or as a multi-user/single user theme. When that happens, we will come back and update this post.
If you areinterested in seeing other themes, then pleas go to WP Themes 4 Sale.
R & D Art now selling custom wordpress themes
When you are building a blog, you want to be as unique as possible. You can search all day long for wordpress themes that are free. The big issue with that is there are going to 20 other blogs that have that same theme being used. That is where the problems begin when it comes to free wordpress themes. There is really no way to get the exclusively for yourself.
With that said, R & D Art has released it’s first collection of wordpress themes for sale. In their first collection series you will be able to find themes that include sports related themes, sunset related, water view related, change of season related, and much more. The great thing is, if there is not something there that you like, then you can contact them directly @ 865-951-0522 and they can build one
with just you in mind. All you will need to do is supply the pictures that you own and some other criteria and the build can be priced out with your specification in mind.
Ultimately, whatever your taste is, R & D Art can help you put it into a layout if they do not already have it. The bottom line is, the layout needs to be a reflection of you, the blogger. So, whether you taste is for sports, animals, theme parks, national parks, states, water, etc…, you can display that right on your blog.
So long blogger
Over the last year or so, I have maintained my blogger site known as The Mortgage and More Blog. As of last night, I decided that blogger could no longer provide me with what I wanted. I have worked hard to maintain this blog and after 371 post, I was not ready to call it quits. So, I decided that I would take the domain name, all the articles, all the comments, and go play somewhere else. As of this morning, my site is once again active and running. However, this time it is based on the wordpress platform and currently being hosted on host monster.
I am so much more keen to the look and feel of the wordpress themes as opposed to the blogger themes. With that said, I am more impressed that the site just seems to function so much better on the new platform.
