Animal Abuse

This morning I had the honor of reading an article that touched me. The article was about this wonderful dog named Honey that was rescued from it’s abusive owners. Prior to this, I watch a story on the news where a man appeared in court for shooting Rosie, a very small very cute Chihuahua. Anything that this ass gets will not bring back this dog. As a fellow dog owner and pet lover, my heart goes out to these people.

Now, I am not one of those animal activist or crazed pet lovers that will go to any extreme to get the point across. I personally think that every thing has its place on this Earth. If you want to shoot an animal, then go hunting for deer or something that will benefit your family. This would be a better path for you to take in the overall scheme of things. Harming someones pet is just about the most despicable deep that I can think of.

Over my lifetime I have heard of some bad things; from 2 boys putting a dog in an oven and turning it on to a 19 year old boy and his father dragging a dog into their yard and then beating it to death. What possesses people to do these types of action? I have to say, I am dissapointed in America as a country when it comes to pets. They are meant to be our companions. They are not meant to be caged up, under fed, or abused in any way. They are meant to bring joy and happiness in our lives. Is that so hard to accept?

Today, my heart goes out to both of these pets and especially to Rosie’s family. They have lost something that can never be replaced.

I saw Rosie’s story on the evening news last night and was simply appalled. The older couple who had owned and loved Rosie were understandable devastated that someone would do something so awful. As for Honey, at least she was rescued and has a loving forever family.

Rich, when I heard Rosie’s story on the news, I was floored. How can someone do this to such a cute little dog. This man needs to be punished.
