The reason why only a small percentage get to continue their blogging is because there's no full purpose to why they're doing it in the first place. Some of course prefer a good number of readers while others like it private, an online diary they like to check on whenever they have time. And still others do it for something temporary which ends up discouraging them thus leading to a blog that is either deleted or abandoned.
